    Coquina Cove Drainage Improvement Project

About the Project

The Coquina Cove neighborhood, comprised of 64 single-family residences, is approximately 15.5 acres in size and consists of two roadways, Ocean Inlet Drive and Shore Drive.

During heavy rain events, the neighborhood currently experiences localized flooding. To address this issue, the City has recommended drainage improvements including piping, drainage structures, outfalls, grading and paving. In addition, sanitary sewer and water main upgrades may be necessary.

The City is considering additional stormwater outfalls to the Intracoastal Waterway and may need residents to volunteer to provide permanent easements for the new outfalls

Frequently Asked Questions

During the construction period, residents may experience temporary detours, dust and vibration caused by heavy equipment.

Individual driveways may be closed for short periods of time as pipe installation progresses and restoration work is completed. Coordination with homeowners will be done in advance for those occurrences. Orange cones will be placed to inform motorists and pedestrians of areas where construction is taking place and advise of alternate routes.  Construction related easements may be needed and will be requested, if required. Residents will be informed in advance of any temporary interruption of services during construction.

Workers will take care so that driveways, mailboxes, and landscaping remain unaffected. If, however, any items are damaged during the course of the project, they will be repaired or replaced.

Design services are currently in process. Once design phase is completed it will go to permitting and then to construction. This web page will be updated throughout the duration of the project
